The Kitchen, American Bistro is located in the historic Reid Murdoch building in River North. We focus on sourcing ingredients as fresh and local as possible and by building relationships with our purveyors. The menu features seasonal offerings that are crafted by our talented culinary team. The Kitchen features various signature items such as hand cut Garlic Fries, Savory Crullers with whipped gorgonzola and pear, Porchetta with apricot-chamomile chutney, Cast Iron Roasted Chicken with Truffle Cream and Sticky Toffee Pudding. The Kitchen opened in October 2014 and is part of The Kitchen Restaurant Group co-founded by Hugo Matheson and Kimbal Musk. Matheson and Musk also co-founded a complimentary non-profit organization, Big Green, that has been an active presence in the Chicago community since 2012. Big Green has built Learning Gardens in over 200 schools across Chicago Public Schools reaching over 65,000 students with real food education.
