Celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Discover NHL Winter Classic in Chicago! This exhilarating outdoor game between the Chicago Blackhawks and the St. Louis Blues will be held inside iconic Wrigley Field, returning to the home of the Chicago Cubs for the first time since 2009.
The Discover NHL Winter Classic continues the tradition established in 2008 of hosting a regular-season outdoor game at the onset of the new year. The upcoming Discover NHL Winter Classic will mark the 7th outdoor game and 5th NHL Winter Classic appearance for the Blackhawks and the third NHL Winter Classic and outdoor game appearance for the Blues.
The Blackhawks and Blues rivalry has spanned 331 regular-season games since the 1967 – 68 season.
The NHL will host a Winter Classic Pre-Game event from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 31 at 1126 W. Grace Street. The free non-ticketed event will include family-friendly interactive games, special appearances, and a chance to take a picture with the oldest and most revered trophy in sports — the Stanley Cup.
