Blues Heaven Foundation at Chess
Willie Dixon’s Blues Heaven Foundation, located within the historic Chess Records Building.
The historic Chess Records building was restored in 1993 by Marie Dixon, widow of Willie Dixon, to house the Blues Heaven Foundation and the various programs for children, students, Blues musicians and music enthusiasts. The historic address, 2120 S. Michigan Ave, houses the only Blues Museum in Chicago, as well as the Blues Heaven Gallery where many photographers have displayed their work.
We are open 12-4 Tuesday through Saturday, with tours every hour on the hour. The last tour begins at 3 PM.
The adjoining Blues Garden features our Record Row Concert Series beginning in June running through mid September.
Performances are FREE every Thursday evening from 6 to 7:30.
