See one of the nation’s first industrial planned communities and learn about its role in labor, civil rights and architectural history at Pullman National Monument. Pullman is Chicago’s only National Park Service site, recognized by former President Barack Obama as an essential part of our nation’s continuing story.
Visitors can walk the residential streets of red-brick rowhomes, learn about Pullman’s history at our new visitor center at 610 111th Street, earn a Junior Ranger badge, and visit partner sites nearby. Group tours are available with National Park Service staff and park partners, and free short ranger-guided tours are offered seasonally.
While you could easily spend an entire day immersing yourself Pullman’s Chicago history. If you have limited time, we recommend exploring the visitor center, and taking a walk around the neighborhood. Consider coming back again to learn more about how the stories connected to Pullman transformed America and the world.
