See Francisco Mendoza’s and the Gallery 37 student untitled murals that adorn the 18th Street station on the Pink Line. Several of the murals symbolize and tell stories about the neighborhood that the station serves. Each of the murals illustrates a different story of rich Mexican heritage while also depicting many important cultural icons in Mexican History. Juan Angel Chavez’ glass mosaic “Vida Simple” at the Damen Avenue Pink Line Station (2100 S. Damen Ave.) is a multi-media mosaic focusing on the individuality of the people that created the heritage and cultural identity of the neighborhood.
