Our love for Japanese convenience stores (konbinis) and the spirit of “Kanpai” led us to blend Japanese convenience store culture with the warmth of shared moments over drinks with friends and family and to open our first location in Lakeview, a neighborhood we call home.
For our second location – Konbini & Kanpai Wrigleyville – we have teamed up with Naomi’s brother, Eric Hattori. This location holds special meaning as it was home to Naomi and Eric’s parents’ restaurant, Pan Asia, nearly 20 years ago. Eric, an experienced food truck owner and contributor to a notable Chicago food hall, PIKO Street Kitchen, is spearheading the menu. Infused with cherished family recipes, Eric aims to bring the flavors of his and Naomi’s upbringing to life through made-to-order dishes crafted in the very kitchen where the culinary journey of their mom and dad began.
Konbini & Kanpai Wrigleyville promises to deliver the same unparalleled selection of high-quality sakes, craft beers, wines, and Japanese packaged goods that have established Konbini & Kanpai Lakeview as a beloved neighborhood destination.
