Louis Sullivan sought to create architecture that honestly reflected its time and place, combining beauty and function. His distinctive system of ornament combined natural and geometric forms. From the Transportation Building at the 1893 World’s Columbia Exposition to the Getty Tomb at Graceland Cemetery to the Stock Exchange Building, Sullivan will go down as one of America’s greatest architects.
