Tree Lighting & Cultural Festival

Join Griffin MSI’s beloved annual tradition: the Tree Lighting & Cultural Festival kicking off the Christmas Around the World and Holiday of Lights exhibits. Take in the spectacle of more than 50 twinkling holiday trees and displays, each decorated to represent a different culture.

This year we’re excited to have Moana 2 actor Hualālai Chung and producer Christina Chen joining Griffin MSI CEO and President Dr. Chevy Humphrey to flip the switch on our four-story Grand Tree at 11 a.m. We’re also welcoming special guests Liv Warfield (America’s Got Talent, Teatro ZinZanni) and Santa Larry, the first Black Santa to spread holiday cheer at the Mall of America.

The day-long celebration will include performances from local cultural organizations; a pop-up by featured sponsor Hotel Chocolat offering hot chocolate and other seasonal treats; Griffin MSI’s Holiday Shop; hands-on activities from the Griffin MSI education team, Chicago Public Library and more; and a brand-new snow show in the Museum’s Rotunda.
