Third Tuesday Jazz: Reginald Robinson

The Logan Center for the Arts and Hyde Park Jazz Society presents Third Tuesday Jazz: Reginald Robinson

Join pianist Reginald Robinson at our Third Tuesday Jazz Series season with an intimate solo performance in Café Logan.

Reginald Robinson, winner of the distinguished MacArthur Award for his innovative ragtime piano works and music research, performs and shares fascinating ragtime history. Reginald was commissioned by Symphony Center Jazz to write a music work honoring early jazz musician and conductor James Reese Europe. He’s also performed at New York’s Schomburg Center for Black Culture. His music has been used in theater and film, such as the documentary Chicago’s Black Metropolis. He is internationally known for his college and university lectures, which help preserve the legacy of African American history.
