The Mischlinge Exposé: A Live Musical Performance

Bending personal history with evocative music, Carolyn Enger’s The Mischlinge Exposé encourages audiences to reflect on the power of labels and their lasting effects by addressing universal themes of inclusion, identity, and empathy.

The Mischlinge Exposé highlights a little-known aspect of the Holocaust: the Mischlinge, a derogatory Nazi term for those neither fully Jewish nor fully Aryan. Enger’s godmother and father, both labeled Mischling (Grade A) by the Nazis.

With the use video and audio testimony Enger uses her family’s story to shed light on the struggles of identity, marginalization, and belonging, capturing the profound impact of Nazi classification on individuals’ lives.

Don’t miss this intimate live performance as Engers offers a compelling exploration of history and its enduring relevance, urging empathy and compassion for those who have been marginalized.
