Singin’ in the Rain: Film with Orchestra


 

“What a glorious feeling!” Join us for our inaugural film and live orchestra event as the celebrated Lyric Opera of Chicago Orchestra performs the lush score for Singin’ in the Rain live alongside the film in a big screen presentation. Named the Greatest Movie Musical of All Time by the American Film Institute, this comedy-romance tells the story of film stars Don Lockwood (Gene Kelly) and Lina Lamont (Jean Hagen) during the era when silent films were evolving into talkies in the 1920s. With an unforgettable ensemble that stars the legendary Debbie Reynolds as Kathy Selden, who captures Lockwood’s heart, and Donald O’Connor as Cosmo Brown, Lockwood’s best friend and fellow entertainer, Singin’ in the Rain features beloved songs like “Good Morning,” “You Are My Lucky Star,” and the legendary title melody. Don’t miss this feel-good hit that is packed with famed melodies to warm your heart this February.
