RE | Dance Group 15th Anniversary Performances

“A Glimpse Through The Walls Where We Might Find God” is a subtle variation on the themes that Michael began exploring in RE|dance group’s “On The Edge Of The Fault Line” from 2022. I imagine the world that scenic designer Sarah Ross, the dancers, and I have created in A Glimpse…is a parallel world or what is on the other side when the dancers ‘fall through the crack in the earth’ at the end of On The Edge Of The Fault Line. Or perhaps it is the result of a different set of choices made in all the same moments. I’ve been contemplating how the past, present, and future intertwine; how things we know and things we don’t know barrel toward each other and result, for me, in trusting a force greater than myself and that I am being guided down a given path for a reason. I’ve let this creative process unfold naturally and intuitively and what’s resulted is, I feel, this beautiful meditation on the presence of the divine and the nature of existence, spirituality, and my relationship with God.
