Music of the Baroque presents Jonathan Woody in Concert
Have you heard of Charles Ignatius Sancho? Come to the Kehrein Center for the Arts on Tuesday, March 4, as bass-baritone Jonathan Woody, one of America’s most intriguing and thoughtful singers, performs a program crafted around the life and music of this fascinating 18th-century writer, composer, abolitionist, and business owner who was the first Black man to vote in Britain. Woody will also perform songs by other 17th- and 18th-century composers, including Handel and Purcell, his own music inspired by Sancho, and more. Members of the Music of the Baroque Orchestra accompany.
Complimentary treats from Austin-based business Sweetest Redemption will be provided after the performance.
