Love will be in the air this Valentine’s Day with Heart of Chicago Soul Club’s All Vinyl, Rare Soul, Dance party, Friday 2/14 9-2am at the Hideout 1354 W. Wabansia. 21+ and $15.  DJ’s Debbie, Ricki, Kat and Psyche Prissy Pie are smitten with the music they collect and will keep the tunes spinning and the dance floor moving. Prepare to be lovestruck by our stellar soundtrack of vintage 60s rare Soul, RnB, and Psych music all on vinyl, making it the perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day.

We are inspired to live up to our name and bring all the heart-warming vibes to Chicago this Valentine’s Day. Our dance parties have already proven to be love starters, so you never know what might happen! Share a special night with a loved one or find your “Soul” mate. Heck, just have some sweaty fun! Heart of Chicago Soul Club is Chicago’s Women led Soul Club, hosting All Vinyl, Rare Soul, Northern Soul and 60’s and 70’s Dance parties. The Chicago Reader has featured the girls from Heart of Chicago Soul Club, who were the Reader’s runner-up for Best Dance Party of 2023 and was nominated again in 2024. Heart of Chicago Soul Club has packed The Hideout to sold out crowds with their uptempo-danceable vintage music which gets everyone moving, including our DJs, The goal is to create community on the dance floor of people who want to have a good time and let loose to great music and artists, some you may know and some that didn’t get their due and deserve a listen. Come see what it’s all about and dance with us; Valentines Day February 14th Doors open at 8:30pm until 2am.

From Block Club:”Heart of Chicago Soul Club is a group of women who are “obsessed” with collecting vintage vinyl and rare northern soul music from the 1960s-70s, Benjamin-Koller said.Soul music has a popular subculture internationally, particularly in the United Kingdom, and its fans are called soulies, Benjamin-Koller said.“We’re mainly a bunch of old souls collecting old soul music that has a lot of heart,” Benjamin-Koller said. “We have a very supportive friendship with soulies in other cities, which we call our sister cities, where we promote each other’s events and help people get involved with rare soul music.”From the late 1950s until the mid-1970s, Chicago was home to Record Row, a 10-block stretch of South Michigan Avenue where several independent record companies produced blues, R&B, jazz and soul music, according to the American Archive of Public Broadcasting. “-Kayleigh Padar, Block Club Chicago
