Heart of Chicago is back at the Hideout Saturday, 11/30 for another grooving dance party. We are excited to welcome back our special Guest DJ Cher from Slow Fizz Rare Soul Dance Party in Toronto!!!! Debbie and Cher started Djing together on the UK Facebook group Soul Twins Mopsey, Foxy and Netty, and came together for the first Heart of Chicago Soul Club at Color Club. Cher was our first special guest and we couldn’t be more honored to have her back. She has such great taste and an amazing record collection, plus she is as sweet as pie! We also have the amazing Shannie Miss Grosssubbing in for the vacationing Ricki Free and our lovely regulars, DJ’s Debbie,Kat and Psyche Prissy Pie! All the ladies on decks will have the dance floor full of great rare vinyl that will make you want to move! Come have fun and dance off that Thanksgiving feast with Heart of Chicago Soul Club!
We are also honored to have our UK friend Amy Hodkin, aka Sheffield Soul Girl on our flyer this month. Thank you to our graphic designer Lincoln! Amy is an amazing dancer and DJ from Sheffield and part of the younger generation loving and living the Northern Soul life. Debbie and Amy met last year and danced at Woody’s in Blackpool and at the All Nighter at the Winter Gardens for the Wigan Casino 50th. Amy and her dad have been on the BBC sharing their passion with youngsters and the Younghearts Soul Club, a youth club organization giving kids a safe place to be as well as learn about the culture of Northern Soul in the North of England where it originated. Amy is an inspiration not only because what she does to keep Northern Soul alive, but because of her passion with young people, but also as an amazing advocate and Learning Disability Nurse. Amy and Debbie share two passions in common, Northern Soul, and disability advocacy.
