ART TALK: Sage Barnes “Reflection” Exhibition at Arlo Chicago – Opening Reception

Calling all fine art lovers, collectors and enthusiasts to Arlo Chicago on Saturday, September 20 from 6-8 p.m. for the latest iteration in Arlo’s Living Room Gallery featuring “Reflections” by Sage Barnes, who will give an art talk to share his creative process behind his celebrated pieces. 

Transition from summer to fall in Arlo Chicago’s About Las Knife The  Arlo Living Room Gallery Series, created and curated by Jasmine Arakel, aims to bring contemporary art into publicly accessible spaces at Arlo Hotels.

 In partnership with Square One Gallery and for a limited time, Arlo is thrilled to exhibit paintings by Sage Barnes, a self-described “painter and other things,” throughout the hotel for the public to enjoy. Barnes’s work is distinguished by his merging of abstract and street art techniques, inviting viewers to take an intimate glimpse into the artist’s creative practice. 

The exhibit showcases Barnes’s Blooms series, first envisioned in 2022 and rooted in application and methodology. The final Reflections are created by painstakingly building layer-over- layer of resin as he relies on precise application to achieve the feeling of weightlessness and suspension. 

The exhibition will include his series, Reflection 2, Reflection 3, Reflection 4, Reflection 8 and Reflection 10 at Arlo Chicago through December 2024. 

The event will allow people to observe the new art installation, meet the artist, mingle with like-minded socialites and sip on specialty drinks in the hotel’s buzzing social spaces. This event is open to the public so bring your friends, lovers, and colleagues for a night of art and music!
